England v New Zealand

This is Why I cant Make up my Mind!

This is the village green where I live in the UK, steeped in history it's called a George V playing field, a huge charity was set up as a lasting memorial to King George the V. there are about 470 protected open playing fields in the UK. You can see the cricket green, there is a children's playground with all wooden elements, it is fenced and basically run by locals. Early morning and late evening it is a joy to walk past.

This is the park in Devonport New Zealand, we called it the Tunnel Trees as Millie christened it, because of the tunnel in the playground and the trees that surround it. It is across the harbour from Auckland city, surrounded on 3 sides by water. I loved it.

This is a fantastic Cafe in Clerkenwell London, hidden down a back street it is run by 2 young women and it serves fresh organic food at very reasonable prices. It is an oasis of calm and peace in a mad busy bustling city.

And this is the Cafe in Devonport we used to visit with the kids. Run by two asian people it surved great coffee and muffins and was a cool oasis in what could be the harsh NZ sun. The children were welcome and it was as friendly as you could find.

Now you spot the difference and tell me where to live!!

Hi JG,

Well I've been back an forth working in London a few times over the last few weeks and can't wait to get back to Kiwiana - though would like to take the weather back at the moment.

I understand the dilemmas - but I, for one, feel there is no competition.

Leaving the UK on Monday, will wave to you as we pass over London :-)

Hello from Chez Lee, well we're happy here in New Zealand for the moment. I do understand your dilemma, and we have moments of, 'Mmm, what would it be like to go back to the UK...' - I think once you've lived and worked in another country - and enjoyed it - there will always be moments of 'what if?'.

However, I have to say that I really do feel so happy here in NZ - for the now. Our children are thriving and loving it and as a family we get to spend more 'hours' together.

As for your lovely photos - they highlight equally wonderful places to play and eat. Equal winners. I guess with the ones in the UK you can share them with your extended family too - and that's magic for your children to have.

Enjoy what's on your doorstep and the summer sun in England. It's a beautiful sunny day here in Welly - though frosty start (and some friends had to deice their cars - quite a rarity in Welly!).

Best wishes, Sarah (Dan, Charli & Sophie)

Well mate, and congrats on the teeth (I could do with this myself)

but tbh, that photo of the English cricket pitch looks a bit yellow. Not very blue at all.

Just look at the Kiwi blue skies in that other piccy. Lovely.
